Mojo Up Sports Complex is excited to bring you our very own Rec Baseball League for players ages 4-11! No cancellations or rainouts in a climate-controlled environment where players will experience small sided game play (8v 8) for maximum practice time and development! This league will be led by experienced and professional coaches who will help train and develop participants and volunteer coaches.

Matt Nicholson is a graduate from Butler University, where he earned his degree in Education. After graduating, Matt began his teaching career at Heron High School, followed by a year at Zionsville West Middle School and two years at Butler University. Matt serves as the Director of Primetime Baseball (Ages 7U-17U). Coach Nicholson has been coaching with Primetime Baseball since 2013. He also works with skill training groups, summer camps, and coaches a Primetime team. Matt greatly enjoys using fitness and athletics as a tool to help teach lessons and values that transfer to daily life. He is incredibly passionate about helping his student athletes learn and grow to be the best that they can be, not only as athletes, but also as active members of their communities.
Anthony graduated from Munster HS where he was a 3 year starting pitcher for the Mustangs. After high school, Gomez continued his baseball career at Vincennes University. After one year at Vincennes, he then transferred to Ball State where he walked on the team. His sophomore year he redshirted and his junior year he earned a letter. Gomez has been training athletes and doing lessons since his freshman year of college. During his college career and after finishing up at Ball State, Gomez served as the volunteer assistant coach for Munster HS.
Also in the summers, Gomez has spent time as a pitching coach and/or head coach for Morris baseball (2017-2019) and Chicago Prairie Gravel (2020). In the off-season since August of 2017, Gomez has been running his own personalized and integrated throwing/strength programs for baseball athletes. (Region Jabronis) He has worked with 100+ players ranging from middle school to high school to collegiate and professional levels.
Gomez will provide us with knowledge of the biomechanics of throwing, how to intertwine weight room work to benefit throwers, and how to understand human movement in order to help our athletes become more efficient movers on the field.
Gomez is also certified for pitching evaluation by OnBaseU.
Nick Rana is originally from Joliet, Illinois. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Parkside in 2019 with a degree in Exercise Science. He then earned his masters degree in Education from the University of Indianapolis in 2021. Nick currently lives in Noblesville and works as an Elementary Physical Education teacher.
Nick was a pitcher during his time at the University of Wisconsin Parkside. His efforts earned him a selection to the All-Decade team at Parkside. He started giving pitching lessons and coaching travel baseball in 2017. Nick spent 4 years as a head coach and the programs pitching coordinator.
His goal is to help pitchers develop their pitch repertoire, fine tune their mechanics, and help them with their mindset while on the mound.
Chris Truby is currently the infield coordinator for the Philadelphia Phillies Organization. He played 15 years of professional baseball, 5 of those years being in the Major Leagues with the Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Rays, Pittsburg Pirates, L.A. Dodgers, and Kansas City Royals. After his playing career he was the manager of the Clearwater Threshers High A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. He works as an INF coach and hitting coach to many of the current Phillies players. You might’ve also seen Coach Truby during the 2018 MLB Home Run Derby as he threw to current Phillies All-Star Rhys Hoskins. Coach Truby will be bringing a true professional instruction component to the facility where he looks to help develop young players the right way.
At Mojo Up Sports Complex, the Primetime Baseball and PRP Baseball coaching staff’s will provide a variety of off-season training options. Training is an excellent way for athletes to improve their skill set and improve their fundamentals. We offer training groups for all ages and skill levels. If you are brand new to the game of baseball, or a high-level travel player, our coaching staff will provide instruction, drills, and feedback to help improve your game!
